Agency Description: The Colorado Anti-Violence Program is dedicated to ending violence within and against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities in Colorado and ensuring the highest quality services are provided to victims/survivors of all types of violence. Our program areas include emergency services for LGBTQ people, their friends and families, capacity building for mainstream agencies on working with LGBTQ people, and violence prevention education. The CAVP is also engaged in advocacy on every level - community organizing, civic participation, policy development and legislative issues - to change the way LGBT people are treated in Colorado. We actively participate in broad-based coalitions with other progressive organizations dedicated to peace and justice.
